Use This Not That: Beauty

Although we love treating ourselves to the spa, our busy schedules and wallets may think otherwise.  Luckily, everything we need for smooth and glowing skin can be found in our kitchens.  I have scoured through Pinterest to share some alternative, DIY at-home spa treatments that will leave your skin beaming, hair shiny and wallet full!!!

Vanilla Sugar Scrub:

1/2 cup Olive Oil

1/2 cup Coconut Oil

2 Cups Raw Organic Brown Sugar

3 – 4 drops Vanilla Extract

Mix ingredients together in a bowl and store in a mason jar.  Slather and exfoliate your body with this concoction in this shower and you will walk out with smooth and polished skin.

  Coffee and Greek Yogurt Scrub:

1 Tablespoon Coffee Grounds

1/2 cup Greek Yogurt

1 teaspoon Lemon Juice

1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil

You can use this mask for your face and your body.  Coffee is a natural antioxidant and it’s caffeine reduces puffiness and tightens skin tissues to reduce the visibility of cellulite.  The lactic acid found in greek yogurt will help moisturize, fight acne, prevent premature aging, relieve sunburn, and reduce skin discoloration.  This is a medley for skin deliciousness!!!!

Skin Toner:

1 Tablespoon Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

1 cup Water

Store in a small glass jar and apply to skin after cleansing skin with a cotton ball.  Skin toner made with raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar balances the natural pH of the skin, clears away excess oils and make-up, and exfoliates to keep skin pores open. It also can lighten sun and age spots, and can improve acne and acne scars.

1/2 Avocado

1 Egg

2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Mix ingredients in a bowl and apply to hair.  Wrap hair in a shower cap or towel for 30 minutes then wash and rinse for soft, shiny and silky threads your hair won’t believe!

I hope you all enjoyed these DIY spa-like treatments.  Try the recipes and let me know what you think.   We all deserve a break, lets give our wallets one too!  Have a great week everyone, catch up with you all soon!
